Registration for Barricades: A Les Mis Con is open. You can purchase your ticket through the EventBrite website or on this page.
Below is the description of the different tickets that are available.
General Admission membership to the convention is £12. (See what this is in your local currency.) This covers admission to all panel streams and chat spaces.
You may also purchase membership for yourself plus a scholarship for someone else—see below for more information on scholarships.
- Artists’ Alley: For no extra cost, you can also sign up in your registration to be an exhibitor in our virtual Artists’ Alley—a special set of Discord channels hosting chat, virtual ‘tables,’ and a directory of exhibitors’ work. If you would like to be a participating artist, add the Artists’ Alley ticket to your registration. (See the Artists’ Alley page for more information.)
- Fans of Colour Zoom Room: There is a zero-cost add-on for access to the Fans of Colour Zoom Room—a safer space for meetups and discussion. If you are a fan of colour and would like a ticket to the Zoom Room, just add the ticket to your registration.
- Other Events: Certain program items, such as games and workshops, may have limited attendance. Tickets to these items will be available as zero-cost add-ons on a first-come, first-served basis. We will announce when any such tickets become available on the website and our social media, and we’ll send an email notice to all already-registered attendees—register early to make sure you get the announcements!
A limited number of full scholarships to the con are available. If the cost of the ticket would be a financial burden—for example, because you are a student or disabled or the exchange rate to your local currency is steep—you can email us at info@barricadescon.com to request a scholarship. You do not need to explain your circumstances; just put your name on the list.
We will release the first batch of scholarship funds on February 15, and on the 15th of every month from then until the con. We will email all scholarship recipients at that time. We will also email anyone we didn’t have funds for and let them know where they stand in the queue.
Scholarships are donation-funded. There is an option in the registration form to purchase a ticket for yourself and also fund a scholarship for someone else.
You can also donate directly to the scholarship fund. (This will trigger a boilerplate confirmation email from EventBrite, our registration management platform, that says “You’ve Got Tickets!” Please ignore that part. We have already asked them if there’s any way to turn that off and there isn’t.)
Any unrequested scholarship funds will be donated to Black & Pink after the con. You can also donate directly to Black & Pink here.
In addition to announcements of special events, the email you use for your EventBrite is the email where we will send your Zoom meeting links, Discord invitation, and the scheduling poll. Be sure to check this email for communications from the con!
The registration form asks for your Badge Name. Your Badge Name is the name you want to go by at the con; it doesn’t have to be the same as the name attached to your email address or payment method. When you get your Discord invitation (closer to the con date—look for it in April!), we will ask you to please set or change your Discord handle to your Badge Name so we know who you are.
