Cosette: A Novel — The (Fanmade) Sequel to Les Misérables
This presentation is a deep-dive into the 1995 fanfiction “Cosette” by Laura Kalpakian. It will include a short background on the author and the publication, a summary of the plot, an analysis of represented historical events in the work, character analyses and comparisons to the source material and other Les Mis adaptations, and memorable quotes. While people, especially those of us who have been in the fandom for a while, may make jokes about this fic sometimes, nothing hurtful or mean-spirited should be said about Kalpakian or anyone else. This presentation would be created with that in mind.
